Instagram is my favourite social media app just because it’s aesthetic. Happiness bubbles up in my heart when I see the high quality pictures and reels.
So, I needed some information about an acquaintance of mine and I checked her Instagram bio. Guess what I saw?
Have you ever stumbled on stuff like this. Like you mean you’re God’s favourite baby and Virgo at the same time? Do you even know what it really means to be Virgo?
The world gets darker by the day. Wrong notions and ideologies fly around and eventually become normal. As believers though, we are called to stand out and not conform (Rom. 12:1-2).
Gloryinspires aims at sharing the right perspective which is God’s perspective. This blog post will not be any different as we will be checking out God’s perspective on Zodiac signs.

What is this Zodiac Sign thingy about?
Astrology involves interpreting the stars and planets in such a way that it is seen to have influence on a person’s destiny.
According to astrology, there are 12 astrological signs that people are born under —Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, or Capricorn.
The Zodiac signs are said to influence personality traits, attitude, behaviours and destinies.
You’ve probably heard some people say, “Don’t judge me! I’m this way because I’m Virgo“. Or like me, you see mixed bios of people claiming to be ‘Saved by Yahweh’ and ‘Pisces’ at the same time.
This is a warped belief because God made the stars and didn’t say that they determine the outcome of our lives. They are creatures of God and do not have that much power.
When I gaze at the stars, I marvel at God’s awesome and creative power. I don’t see them as some powerful force.

What does the Bible say about it?
“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.”
PS. 147:4 NIV
Our God is Almighty and holds all power in His hands. He framed the world and everything you see in it today by His words. He made you and already mapped out a good life for you. Yes! He holds your life and defines it. Nothing else!
Horoscopes, Angel numbers, Zodiac signs are definitely not of God. They try to sell the lie that the Universe is powerful in itself, divine and able to determine the path your life goes. Where then does the Almighty God come into the picture?
You see the subtlety? It’s clearly a system of divination and witchcraft. Check Deut. 13:1-3
So many people pray to the universe and believe they will manifest all that they are made to be. You will be amazed at how many people believe that the universe actually grants them favour and brings them good things. Some even blame their bad behaviour on their Zodiac signs. You hear things like, “I’m Taurus that is why I’m this stubborn. I can’t help it.”
Doesn’t that sound like the Aladdin movie to you? You just rub a lamp, say your wishes and the genie (universe) gives it to you because it’s indebted to you?
Funnily enough, you might exhibit the personality traits the horoscope claims you have but it doesn’t make it true. It’s all mere instincts, permutations and combinations that are still false.
“But these men sneer at anything which they do not understand; and whatever they do know by [mere] instinct, like unreasoning and irrational beasts—by these things they are destroyed.”

As a believer, even your temperament is to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 5:17 lets us know that in Christ, we are new people living the God-life.
Peter for example was an angry and almost impatient man. He didn’t think things through before taking action but on knowing Jesus, he changed. He didn’t go around making excuses for his bad behaviour. Instead, He let God work in him and lived it out because the potential had been lying in him all along.
So should you. Turn to God to define you and help your flaws not your astrological sign or horoscope.
You aren’t defined by Zodiac signs but by Christ.

Conclusion
Look, in this Christian journey, you can’t be gray. It is either you are white or black. You can’t hold God in one hand and witchcraft in the other. Pick a side dear and stop confusing us with your mixed bios.
Are you God’s Own? Act accordingly and be unapologetic about it.
