You take what is
And you make it beautiful
When love floods in
We’re restored forever more
Power to Redeem by Lauren Daigle
We can be really quick sometimes to forgive those who have offended us but wait a minute! How about ourselves ? We take almost forever ruminating on our mistakes. Do you think though that it is God’s desire for us ? It’s time to find out !
Let us take a quick look into the life of the woman who was caught in adultery and brought to Jesus in John 8:
“Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”
John 8:3-5 NKJV
Probably, this was not the first time she was doing this. Deep down, she knew what she was doing was wrong . Then, she was caught. OMG! The shame! The humiliation! I can imagine the weight of self-condemnation as tears came rolling down her cheeks.
You can probably relate. Maybe you have (almost) been there before. What probably differentiates most of us is that we were never (or haven’t been) caught. She is like me and you in a lot of ways …
The lies we tell, the eyes with which we look at people sometimes, even our thoughts about them, the secret sins, the sites we visit at night, the manner in which some of our brothers sometimes look at that sister passing by.
The list goes on . . .
We know it all. This was how we lived before we met JESUS.
I am not here to talk about our sins though. I am here to talk about The One who is capable of giving us A NEW BEGINNING. The One able to REDEEM AND RESTORE. This lady was brought to Him and guess what He said to her:
“Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
John 8:10-11 NKJV
Or maybe you have built your life on opinions of people who condemn and judge you. The Lord is telling them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” (JOHN 8:7 NKJV)
Whatever the case might be, it is time to break out friend. God is calling you into a new beginning with Him. He is not condemning you. No! He is not! He has never condemned. He only convicts you of your sin because He wants repentance. He wants to see you walk in the fullness of His plan for your life. Wondering if He has plan for your life? Of course He does !
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV
The Greatest One, the Creator of the heavens and earth seats on his throne thinking about you. Yes, you my friend! Just imagine that.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
God has a plan for your life but it begins with repentance. The beautiful surrender of letting go. Letting go of guilt, self-righteousness, unforgiveness and any weight keeping you from experiencing Him. His love for you sets you apart. The weight of all He accomplished on Calvary can never be erased by any iniquity or mistake of your past. I love how Lauren Daigle puts it in her song ‘Power to Redeem‘
No guilt competes with innocence crucified
Absolutely nothing completes

Conclusion
God has a purpose for you my friend! Make up your mind to follow him as you let go. The journey is not an easy one but imagine being carried on the wings of an eagle riding on the storm. Whoosh! That is how beautiful and great your testimony can be.
He alone with the Power to Redeem makes beauty out of what has been broken. I know it. I have experienced it. You can also experience it friend. Give Jesus a big YES. SURRENDER ALL (Your fears and doubt included).
