Mr. Reynold was one of the best Shepherds in Texas. He owned a hundred sheep and took care of them like they were his children. One day, a lamb wandered away and was lost. Mr. Reynold was really disturbed. He went here and there in search for his lost sheep. He left the ninety-nine sheep grazing on the hillside to thoroughly search for the one lost lamb. He eventually found it and rejoiced over it. Even more than over the ninety-nine who were safe.

Do you know who a shepherd is? Ever seen one?

A Shepherd is a person who guards and tends to sheep. He directs them in the way to go with a rod and when they go in the wrong direction, he corrects them by striking them with a rod.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalms 23:4 NIV

In Psalms 23, Jesus is described as our Shepherd. He provides for us like the Shepherd provides food and water for his sheep, He leads us in the way to go, He guides us with His staff and corrects us when we mess up with His rod.

When The Good Shepherd corrects you, He doesn’t just do it for no reason at all. He does it lovingly to get you back on the right track.

For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.”

Hebrews 12:6 AMPC

So this Christmas, have the consciousness that The Great Shepherd loves you. He is there to provide for your needs, direct you and correct you when you go off the path He has set for you.

If you haven’t accepted Christ yet, you can’t enjoy all these things The Great Shepherd gives. You have to genuinely repent and forsake whatever sin you’ve committed. Confess your sins to GOD. Believe in Jesus’ power to save you from your sins and ask Him to help you forsake them. Just say this prayer :

Father I acknowledge that I am a sinner, that Jesus died for me, that you raised him from the dead. Father please forgive me. I accept Jesus today as my Lord and my Saviour. I choose to walk in The Way. Amen. ”

It’s that simple! Now you need to join a Bible believing church. This is to ensure that you are nurtured rightly. Also, you need to get baptized with water as a public show that you’re now with Jesus. You also need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost.

I trust you were inspired. Here’s a challenge for you : Copy your favourite part of this blog post and Repost on your status walls and social media pages or stories. Let’s remind everyone of who the reason for the season is.

Till I come your way tomorrow! ✌🏾

Jesus is the greatest shepherd of His church, every other shepherd should take a cue from His disposition in managing their flocks as well.
