Have you met Jesus? No, He is not that painting on the wall in your living room with His arms stretched out. Neither is He the baby wrapped in a shawl hanging from your Christmas tree as decor.
Jesus is the Son of GOD. Jesus in Hebrew is “Yeshua” which is translated to mean “Saviour“. His name completely describes what He came to the earth to do. He came to save our fallen world.
“To save our fallen world from what exactly”?, you may ask . He came to save us from our sins, guilt, shame, suffering and from ourselves. Yes He came to save you from you.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Whether you admit it or not, you can be a great hindrance to yourself. Remember that time you were to make a speech in front of people. You were 100% ready for it but when it was time to deliver, you kept on saying to yourself that you couldn’t do it …
Jesus came so you could be free from all of these things. As a result of you receiving Him, you received the Holy Spirit who reminds you that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. He is the reason why when you got scared of making the speech again, a boldness arose from within you and you almost exceeded the time given. You felt like I have a dream. LOL!
Or maybe you haven’t accepted Christ yet so you can’t relate with all I’ve been saying. It’s fine! I’ll share Him with you. You have to genuinely repent and forsake whatever sin you’ve committed. Confess your sins to GOD and ask Him to help you forsake them. Just say this prayer :
“Father I acknowledge that I am a sinner, that Jesus died for me, that you raised him from the dead. Father please forgive me. I accept Jesus today as my Lord and my Saviour. I choose to walk in The Way. Amen. ”
It’s that simple!
Now you need to join a Bible believing church. This is to ensure that you are nurtured rightly. Also, you need to get baptized with water as a public show that you’re now with Jesus. You also need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost.
