“For blessedness does not come from the wealth of things, but from GOD.”
THEOLOGIA GERMANICA
A millennia ago, many philosophers embarked on a quest for knowledge of the wonderful structure of man.
There were numerous results of the research. Some outrageous, others reasonable at first then making no sense at all afterwards .
You see, your body is not all there is to you. Man is made up of three parts so to say; body, soul and spirit (1 Thess. 5:23).
“Man is a spirit, lives in a body and has a soul.”
Abigail Juwah, author of Walking on stormy seas
The three different parts experience different forms of satisfaction .
- The body experiences pleasure. Pleasure from food, money, accomplishments. The body is more like a container housing the other parts.
- The soul experiences happiness. The soul is the seat of your emotions, personality and will. Your soul is your wordly self.
” What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? “
Luke 9:25 NIV
- The spirit experiences joy. Your spirit is your true self. Your spirit knows you more than anything just like GOD’S Spirit does Him. (1 Cor. 2:11) Your spirit is used for true fellowship with GOD. So, don’t be deceived when you cry when worshipping or singing worship songs. You might just be getting carried away by your emotions. This is not to say that crying when worshipping GOD is wrong.
“ Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”
John 4:23 MSG

When your spirit is in contact with GOD’S Spirit, you experience joy. Remember that your spirit should always be in touch with GOD’s. God is the only true source of joy, so the Holy Spirit pours it into your spirit. Joy comes from a relationship with God.
“There I will go to the altar of God, to God—the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God!”
Psalms 43:4 NLT
As long as you’re filled with the Holy Spirit , you’ll be filled with Joy. Jesus promised us that the Holy Spirit will be with us forever. When you believed in and accepted Jesus Christ, you received His Spirit. If you haven’t accepted Jesus though, now is not a bad time. You can start by praying this prayer:
“Father I acknowledge that I am a sinner, that Jesus died for me, that you raised him from the dead. Father please forgive me. I accept Jesus today as my Lord and my Saviour. Amen. ”
By the way, you don’t want to put off accepting Jesus . Yes, you’ll have pleasure and happiness but there will always be a void in your heart if Christ isn’t in there.
“A life without Jesus is like a doughnut, ’cause there’s a hole in the middle of your heart.”
ThE DOUGHNUT MAN
Do you know what this means? It means that even when it seems sadness and depression creep into your heart, you’ve still got joy. All you have to do is draw it from your spirit by praising GOD. I don’t mean singing fast, upbeat songs. I mean truly praising God from your spirit.
Bear in mind that Joy is not happiness. Happiness is an emotion your soul experiences when it is satisfied. Unlike joy, it is only felt when things are rosy. It does not last long. Joy on the other hand is experienced even in the midst of trouble.
You might be depressed or going through really tough times now but, the Holy Spirit hasn’t left you. He won’t ever leave. As long as He’s in you, you’ve not lost your joy. Choose to be joyful today dear one. Praise GOD from your Spirit and with joy, draw from the wells of salvation.
I know you’ve been inspired. Please share this post to that person on your mind right now. They just might need to be reminded that they have joy from within. Also, please leave a comment as I always love to hear from you.
