Josh was an inspirational blogger. He always sent out posts that encouraged his readers when they were at the brink of giving up. His words gave them hope and reminded them of reasons to live .
He had a problem though…
There were seasons he found himself lost in a spiral of negative thoughts, depression and darkness. He always got out one way or the other but could never really point at what saved him…
Are you like Josh? Are there specific times in your life you feel hopeless and lonely? If yes, this is for you!
Whether you are an encourager professionally or not, there are days you will be down and need your own advice.
No man is really an island or was created to survive on his own. Adam had Eve. The lion has his lioness and so does the horse. Even, GOD shows us the essence of relationships. I mean, just take a look at the Trinity. In Gen. 1-3,we see a beautiful relationship between the God head.
Dear Encourager (by profession or necessity), you should know that:
You might need to go over and listen to your own advice sometimes. Well, I learnt and I’m still learning that. There are times that I am in a certain situation ,but God had used me to address it previously in my blog post or just words to friends. There was a time, my brother had to point out the fact that I had already proffered a solution by God’s inspiration to what I was passing through . The words God puts in my heart for you always have a way of aligning with a particular area of my life. Sooner or later, I always need them.
“There comes a time in life when you will have to tell yourself the same words you tell people when they need counsel.”
IRIA GREAT
Also, sometimes you need to listen to those you have previously given advice to. Yes! I get the fact that you’re the girl or guy that God always uses to heal people with words but my dear, you need to listen too. Those words come in handy most times. It is called ‘WHEN THE ENCOURAGER NEEDS ENCOURAGING “
Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 AMP
Dear Encourager, be transparent about your struggles. Now, I do not mean you should carry a megaphone announcing your problems or better still a placard with the inscription : ‘ I AM NOT FINE!’ The Encourager needs encouragement too.
I hope you were inspired. Please share this post on your social media platforms if you were .
