What is your criteria for joining a local church? Awesome choir with sonorous voice and killer beats? Massive church house? Large number of church members? What is it?
Do not go where it is all fine music, grand talk and beautiful architecture. Go where the Gospel is preached. And go often.

Nowadays, people do not even know why they go to church. Some say, “If the members are not many, I can not worship there .” Others say, “If the members are not many, I can not really flow in the Spirit.”
LOL! Matt. 18:20 does not tell us that where a lot of people are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there. Instead, it says where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there with them.
For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”
Matthew 18:20 AMP
Church is meant to be a school to know, understand and be able to teach Scriptures. It is meant to be a place where you worship together with other believers. A place where you are sharpened by other people.
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17 ESV
You should not listen to those who say that you do not need to go to church since you are ‘the church’ . It is absolutely true that you are the church but fellowship with others spurs your faith in God.
This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing. In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.

Church is not :
- Somewhere you go just to silence the guilt of not going anywhere on Sundays.
- Somewhere you come to flaunt your clothes or perhaps your musical skills.
- Church is not a place you come to socialize and grow your business.
- Church is not a place to meet a suitable marriage partner.
Okay! Fine! Some churches are small. Some are mid-size. Some are large. Some are mega. You want to know the truth? Check this out:
We need all sizes and structures of churches.
You should see beyond the structure of the church though! It is not healthy to focus on church structure alone. You should look into the church. Ask yourself questions like : Is God’s Word taught here? Do we pray enough? What does the Holy Spirit have to say about this church ?
