Imagine these three (3) scenarios:

Scenario 1: It’s your birthday, your family and friends plan this huge surprise party. They make preparations for food, drinks, there are lots of presents and you know, all that birthday stuff. The party isn’t actually a party except you, the celebrant is aware of it and actually celebrated right? Well, that’s what we often do at Christmas.

We make preparations, cook lots of food, drinks are surplus, gifts under the Christmas tree and carry out our Christmas traditions that are as ‘old as the word old‘. Unfortunately, we never actually celebrate the reason for Christmas. Jesus gets shut out of His own birthday party.

Scenario 2:You are invited to a birthday party. You eat, drink, dance and all of that but you don’t actually know the celebrant. You didn’t even get them a birthday present.

That’s another thing many of us do. We don’t know the celebrant. I don’t mean you hearing about Him alone. I’m talking about having a real relationship with Him. Like knowing Jesus on a personal level.

Scenario 3: You are invited to a birthday party. You know the celebrant very well. You even got a present but you get carried away with the plenty food , drinks and music that you forget to give them their birthday present.

Many of us are guilty of this one. We see Christmas as a holiday that is characterized with eating and drinking and actually forget the real reason for Christmas- JESUS.

It is true that Jesus gave us peace and hope but there’s something more He gave us- a relationship with Him. He gave us this priceless gift but year after year, Christmas after Christmas, we leave it unwrapped. Jesus gives life meaning. Why? HE IS THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE

‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

Acts 17:28 NIV

Why don’t you unwrap that gift this Christmas? Agree to have a relationship with Him. Say this simple prayer :

“Father I acknowledge that I am a sinner, that Jesus died for me, that you raised Him from the dead. Father please forgive me. I accept Jesus today as my Lord and my Saviour. Amen.”

If you said that prayer, Congratulations! You now have a Christmas with a difference and a New life!

So, because of Him we have peace, hope and a reason to celebrate.

I hope you were inspired. Do well to share with your loved ones as this is a season of love and leave a comment too as I always love to hear from you. Also, check out the Christian Wallpapers page and feel free to screenshot. Merry Christmas people!
